Why build yurts

Because we love their space and function!

We build yurts because traditional architecture needs to be (re)discovered. Vernacular buildings have stood the test of time, and as such they can serve as great models in a world struggling to be sustainable.

The process of building a traditional type dwelling automatically questions and re-evaluates contemporary design values, methods, materials and their applications. Yurts in particular are a great example of micro-architecture that allows for direct; hands on exploration of a building that is highly resourceful and natural!

By taking inspiration from this traditional form, we hope to create shelter and space that is not only efficient and functional but also inspiring. They are fascinating structures that are more advanced than many common buildings today, they may still teach us a thing or two.
